AI variances

I have two questions:
how much can water retention vary from one person to another? I keep a clean diet though it is not particularly low in carbs as I am an endurance athlete and need to keep the reserves stocked. On 175/wk of Test Prop (50mg eod), I had water retention to the point were I was conserned about stretch marks in my calves particularly. Once I came off the test, I droped about 10lbs -- quick.
I used 1mg of adex every 3 days (split dose) trying to keep the water under control, but no dice. If I used more than this (over 1/2 mg ed) then I could keep pretty good control but other sides became a concern. If I understand AI correctly, adex has the lowest conversion blocking rate and would seemeingly be easiest on lipid profile. Could it be that I would be better off with something like aromasin at a lower dose (or even letro)? It seems there are individual variances with all chemicals -- I assume this is the case with AIs.
All of this is around my next cycle where I am looking to try 200 EQ with 100-125 test and don't wat to go through the water retention trouble that I had on my last cycle.

madtrack --
what experience have you had with eq and water weight? have you experimented with other AIs beyond adex and found a different result? I am thinking about picking up GRWOXXL's 'stane to do some research, but I need to do a bit more reading up first.
