R2E, i have to find it but from what i remember, mixing whey and milk does slow the absoprtion a bit. You are correct though, the flax fats are great for the slowing effect!

would that be because of the lipids in milk or the casein?

You're right. Mixing whey and milk will slow the absorption because milk coagulates in the stomach. I'm not sure if this is because of the properties of milk or the casein. Nevertheless, I know it will.

The reason I didn't suggest it is because most on the board don't recommend milk. Personally, I drink at least a half gallon of 1% a day. I absolutely love the stuff, and feel that it has a pretty good ratio of carbs : protein : fat. Furthermore, it natural calcium aids in fat loss.

I have also read somewhere that the calcium in milk has a low bioavailability. Better off with sesame seeds, tahini maybe.
I also read that inorder to increase calcium, silica is a better option.

Going by jb's numbers, which keep in mind differ slightly between brands, there is a 48/33/19 carb/prot/fat ratio. Just perfect for me

Oh bro i totally agree with you!! Milk is the best, ice cold glass of choco milk or a tall glass of 1% is great. I think the reason most dont recommend it is because it makes them fat and it is loaded with hormones. I have never had a prob with it and for the last 14 or so years i have had a glass of milk at least once a day!! Love the stuff, especially choco milk before bed!!!

it has been here for centuries, so I don't think it will do any harm if used properly. Besides that, it's delicious, especially the american ones.

Don't know bro, but it must be expensive as it's imported... I only use it when I go to the US .
