Is it best to take protein with carbs or fat? Will protein taken with water provide enough of an insulin response where theres no need for the other macros to shuttle the protein. Thanks.

You don't need to take protein with anything, insulin's primary action is to shuttle glucose into cells. Protein will become broken down into amino acids and used as needed for whatever body processes.. the whole reasoning in taking protein is so that your body doesn't rob muscle cells of it for things like : repair of normal tissues, energy (when lack of glucose/fat), etc.. "Washing" the body with protein every couple of hours thus ensures that we get protein to use for repair of muscle tissue when we damage them while working out ! Hope this helps !

I should mention, with the same reasoning, that you shouldn't only eat protein.. you need carbs for energy, as stated above if not present then your body will use amino acids it robs from muscle cells, as well as fat.. This is why when a lot of guys get to doing some serious cardio to lose weight they almost always inevitably lose muscle along with it, unless they have their macronutrients dialed in.. (takes knowledge for sure). Of course other things play a role here, I'm just scratching the surface.. for purposes of your question though I think I answered it, I hope lol.

The main reason i asked is because I wanted to up my protein intake to get around 300. I haven't been taking in enough, I am guessing that i was taking in approximately 100g's a day. I was 200lbs, but I have i have cut back to 186lbs in the last month and a half, by eating clean and quiting drinking. I would be farther along but I sprained my wrist doing standing bb shoulder presses. So i have only been able to work out legs for 2 weeks.
When I get back from spring break in a 1.5 weeks (by then my wrist should be healed), I want to start the Super Cutter Program.
