I saw an ad for it in the paper. It said the first spray is $15 which I thought is pretty high. How often do you have to get sprayed? Also, how does it look compared to regular tanning beds. I'm a white irish dude that can't get shit from the beds so I guess this is my only hope for some color.
works well but..... Gets inbetween your finger nails, stains clothes and sheets, last only a few days after you shower. Expensive and there are some articles claiming its toxic. Just not worth it.
thanks for the info. I actually took a look lower down on the board and there's already a post about it there with people saying it's no good. I guess I'll pass on it.
Bumping up. Anyone else try it?
i just tried it at a new salon i saw an ad for...boca tanning club salon...open 24hrs a week so i said heck why not try it... i tried the mistic tan...i just came back from it and it made me real fuckin dark and i have an even tan....its awsome. sometimes your salon have club membership deals where u can get the spray tan for 5-7 bucks per spray...but ask your salon..mine has it for 7 bux each time u try the mistic tan if u have a vip membership(additional discount for students). back to ur question...spray lasts 5-7 days and has no side effects...just dont shower for 4-6 hrs after the spray compared to reg tanning beds..ure not reg when u come outta this..ure fully bronzed no redness....and within a few hrs the tan begins to develop...still waiting on mine as its been bout 45 minutes since i was sprayed :-). will let u all know how the tan looks manana and how long it really lasts. 🙂
Does it fade evenly or splotchy? bs
Dream Tan if your comping
IMO, (I tan a LOT) the Mystic beds are the best, second is Instant Tan or Hollywood Tan. Always exfoliate your skin just before going to the salon. Put lotion on your fingers, and toes especially (they are drier and will hold the product). Do not moisturize before going in and wash your hands as soon as you come out. If you don't shower or bathe for another 4 hours your color should be good and last for at least a week. I would recommend getting a bit of a base tan in the UV beds before using the spray. If you're super white, you could look orange. The salon should adjust the amount of spray coming out to comply w/ your skin tone.
I tried a Mystic Tan, it really didn't look good to me. Both my wife and I were pretty disappointed. (Note: I also paid $20 per mystic tan) I found I was darker and more natural looking just by applying the Neutorgena Sunless tanning foam. I think it comes in deep and extra deep, just stick with deep to look more even and natural. I have my wife rub it on my back but I also have a stick with a sponge on it that came with some pro-tan, makes hitting your back easy. I usually put on some latex gloves before applying as well. Takes me about 10 minutes and get 3 full body applications out of a $7 bottle. Just my two cents. I would have to say I'd give the mystic tan another shot if it were cheaper or if I had an event coming up I wanted to look tan for, just faded SO quick.
Fake tan spray is the shit. Who cares if the trained eye can tell it's fake, it still looks good. People lie in tanning beds to get a tan and purposely expose their skin to the sun longer than they normally would do just to get a tan, so why should you feel embarassed if a fake tan looks a little... fake?
LoL OlympiaMan I totally agree. I still have a difficult time convincing people of it, but I don't really give a rats ass 😛 I've been using sunless tanning products for years now and love them.
for the irish white dude... have you ever tried tanning with trisoralen (trioxalen) ? that might be another option for you if the tanning beds alone don't work.
