I used to be heavy into bodybuilding, but have not lifted a pair of weights for 6 years (an injury stopped me in my tracks).

I'm now 32, am about 30 pounds overweight, and haven't kept much, if any of the muscle I gained during that period (I was never very big anyway). I guess I should be considered an average pudgy Joe Schmoe.

I am committed to losing weight, now that I feel I truly need to. My plan is to eat healthily (lower carb intake, raise protein levels) and run for 40 mins every morning. I do NOT plan to introduce lifting into my schedule yet.

I plan to take 25mcg of t3, along with an equivalent, low-dose of Albuterol (maybe 8mg a day), and after a couple weeks introduce 2mg of Ketotifen a day. I plan to do this for 10 or so weeks.

Does this sound like a safe means of kickstarting and helping along fatloss? Will the low dosage of T3/Alb not be worth the trouble? What can I expect from this regimen?

I am choosing a low-dose regimen because I don't want to rack my body at this point in life, and think that it will be beneficial as an adjunct to weight loss. I'm also hoping that the low T3 dose will minimize muscle catabolism.

What do you all think?

Why don't wait a couple of months clean, just doing weight training, cardio and a hypocaloric diet, and see how your body reacts before using chemicals?

I would forget the chems until you at least have resistance training as part of your program and feel a little more into the swing of things.

Lifting weights is anaerobic and you will burn fat much easier.

I agree that resistance exercise + cardio is extremely effective for fat loss.

To respond to your question as posed, yes I believe your proposal would be reasonably safe and effective. It is hard to say what you can expect but there is no doubt in my mind that it would significantly increase the amount and/or rate fat loss.
