I am on HRT, and have some moderate cystic acne as a result. I use Bactrim which clears it right up. Since HRT is mean to be forever, how long can a person safely take Bactrim or any Antibiotic for that matter, without any long term side effects? The only thing I can think of as being harmful is the destruction of friendly bacteria in your body. But I would think as long as you supplement with Probiotics, it shouldn't be a long term concern. Question now becomes which to stop HRT or Bactrim (If Bactrim can only be continued for a short period of time)??? thanks

I use doxycicline for month in row because I have problems with acnee. Anyway there is a difference between what I am doing and between what I would reccomend. You should go to www.pub.med and check for bactrim long time administration studies and side efects
