How Many Protein Shakes Do You Drink A Day?

im interested because i've never really paid attention to what i'm eating (besides just try and eat healthy), but i was trying to see if i could do the 1-1.5g of protein for every lb i way, and i realized that there's no way i get enough protein just drinking 2 shakes a day like I do now. Thinking about maybe changing to 3. I know you're not supposed to rely on supplements, but I really can't eat chicken or eggs every meal.

i just realized i spelled protein wrong in the title of the thread

There is no problem with using 3 shakes a day, biggest factors are you need to balance out your protien with enough carbs and you need to eat at least 3 regular meals a day.

2 per day. I love to eat too much, so for my meals after breakfast and after workout I do the shakes.

I use protein as a compliment to my regular diet.....I try to eat 6 small meals per day with a good balance between Carbs, Protein & fat.....If a meal contains mostly Carbs then I add in a Protein drink so that Protein synthesis can have an opportunity to start up and carry on for the next 2-3 hr's....

So...As you can see with six meals a day and all of them having all of the essential amino acids present at the time of the meal will allow protein synthesis to occur frequently and steadily throughout the day....:-)

But the most important times to take in protein drinks IMO are Just before your workout and just after your workout.....along with the drink after your workout add in a banana for some quick acting simple carbs.....This will raise your blood surgar level back up along with your insulin level which in turn will aid in reducing the catabolic hormone "Cortisol" which raises up during intense exercise ....because blood sugar levels & Insulin levels drop during this time....:-)

I quess I should have taken the time to write this out in a way it would make more sence.....but I think you all get the picture....:-)

1-2 per day, i usually drink two when i haven't time to make a solid food.

I usually take a few whey shakes thru the day. I used to down them with an apple. More recently, I've been cooking extra oatmeal and eating a small potion with each shake. If my PM meal is after 730, I skip the late night shake (MUscle Meal-- I'm about addicted to the banana creme). Otherwize the third shake is before bedtime.

I drink 2-3 a day. I have read several places that supplemental protein should be no more than 40% of your total protein intake. I try to get two chicken breasts, and two cans of tuna down every day.
