whats the difference between a dsl modem and a cable as for spped?

i have roadruner time warner cable and have never had a complaint, excpet for the rare occasion the cable has been out, but i have never seen my conncection lag at peak usuage times, so it just may depend on where you live

If you are used to dial up or large lans either one will make u one happy bastard. Its like arguing whether a firehydrant or a watermain will be enough for your home drinking water. Unless you are hosting always active servers or some other hardcore stuff then you wont be even tapping into half the bandwith u have.

It depends where you live. If your physical location is closer to the location of your dsl provider your DSL speed will be faster. If you live in New Jersey email me and we can maybe set something up because i work for a company that handles exactly this and maybe we could work something out or at least i could give you prices. Fuck cable modems. The cable company knows every page you view and now with the 'Patriot Act' the government can view that information without probable cause. BTW, my upload speed was greater than my download speed=pissed:
