What protein you guys using?

I dont agree with Casein in the morning for the following reason.

1.) your glycogen stores are gone, and since you've been sleeping all night your protein stores are depleted, and Casein is the slowest absorbing protein, not what you need first thing in the am.

2.) Casein is overpriced! Whey/cottage cheese mix has the same benefits, for a quarter the price.

3.) If your going to be working out shortly after your first meal, (as I do) You definatly want a WHEY source of protein (which is absorbed the fastest) first thing in the morning!

i think casein is a great before bed protein, or a middle of the day type of deal, (im currently bulking and having a casein shake in the middle of the
night)

And im Using ON Whey in the morning and after a workout,

and muscle milk before bed, or in the middle of the night!

I like your outline style.

The GNC Protein PM has some whey in it too. The only problem I see with whey only in the morning is that it doesnt stay with you very long. So unless you eat another meal within an hour of the protein shake you may end up catabolic for a few hours. Maybe a A 50/50 whey casein mix in the morning would be best.

Muscle Milk is a mixed protein also and it is expensive compared to straight whey.

ON makes a straight casein that I think is delicious. Its good for the meal after the post workout meal. I saw a place online that you can make custom protein blends. I thought that was pretty cool.

Best Whey:

2) Optimum: Pro-Complex

3) Nature's Best: Isopure Perfect Zero Carb Vanilla or Low-Carb Chocolate

Shop around - I have gotten the 5 lb. of IDS for $30, Pro-Complex 5 lb. for $38, and the Isopure 3 lb. for $30 online.

After a workout, you want a whey isolate like ISOPURE or MULTI-PRO (by IDS), at night, Pro-Complex is time-released blend or Universal has Milk, Egg, Casein, Whey I believe.

Opt Nutrition 100percent Gold is by far the best ive tried.

6 ounces of water and a scoop and u have 25g that tastes pretty damn good.

I can drink 6 ounces of water in no time so its by far my fav protein. East to mix with a shaker cup. I hear muscle milk is good too havent tried it yet. But when i start my cycle im gonna want something with a lil more calories then the opt whey but until then its the best ive tried by far.
