Hey all, anyone got a good protein/carb bar recipe? Im about sick of downing 6 cups of oatmeal and shakes every day.
Here are a few:
What you need:
3 1/2 cups quick oats
1 1/2 cups powdered non-fat milk
4 scoops protein powder
1 cup sugar-free maple syrup
2 egg whites, beaten
1/4 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 c. natural applesauce
Preheat over to 325 and spray a baking sheet or 9x12 baking dish with non-stick spray. The 9x12 baking dish will yeild thicker bars.
Mix oats, powdered milk, and protein powder in bowl and blend well.
In separate bowl, combine eggwhites, orange juice, applesauce, and the sugar-free syrup and blend well.
Stir liquid mixture into dry ingredients until blended. The consistency will be thick and similar to cookie dough.
Spread batter onto pan and bake until edges are crisp and browned.
Cut into 10 bars and store in airtight container or freeze.

These are good 'cause they're no-bake (I don't like baking protein powder, I feel like it loses some of its nutrition value that way).
What you need for this recipe:
8 Scoops Protein Powder
3 Cups Oats
1 Package Sugar Free Fat Free Pudding
2 Cups Skim Milk
My favorite flavor combo is Orange whey with Cheesecake flavored pudding mix...it's REALLY good!! You can play with the flavors though, makes it fun 😉
Mix until a sticky batter is formed (may take a few minutes)
Use a large spoon to spread out the mix into the bottom of a Pam-sprayed cooking tray (spread until even)
put in the fridge overnight and cut into 8 equal bars.

Third recipe:
1 cup raw oatmeal
5 scoops protein powder (strawberry or vanilla works best for this)
1/4 cup fat free cream cheese
1/2 cup non fat dry milk powder
2 egg whites
1/4 cup water
1 1/2 bananas, mashed
2 tsp. canola oil (this makes them moist & doesn't add that much fat)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray a 9x9 square pan with cooking spray & set aside. In a bowl combine oatmeal, Protein powder & dry milk. Set aside. In another bowl beat together with an electric hand mixer, cream cheese, egg whites, bananas, water & oil. Add the oat mixture & continue to beat until the two are combined. Pour batter into the prepared pan & bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Makes 6 bars.

Has anyone made the 2nd recipe that FigureChick posted with the orange whey? Do you cook the oatmeal or is it uncooked?
